Over the summer, the group attended an International Workshop in Cambridge alongside student laureats coming from Boston, Oklahoma, Minnesota, England and even Singapore.
The ArtScience prize, started by David Edwards at the Laboratoire, is a collaborative project between a variety of schools. The objective is to create multidisciplinary groups from all around the world that will be working to create projects around a specific theme.
Strate School of Design organizes the same event in France with the following schools : Ecole Centrale Paris, Telecom ParisTech, Strate School of Design, ENS Cachan, Polytechnique and IESA Multimedia. These teams are working on a common innovation theme: Biodiversity. The students meet once a week at the CRI (Centre de Recherche et d’Innovation) to work on the projects but also for research and site visits and presentations at the Laboratoire.
The winning team from France participated in the International Workshop in Cambridge.
The workshop took place at the Laboratoire of David Edwards, the founder of the ArtScience prize, in Cambridge, Massachusetts.
Each morning, the students attended classes with guest lecturers and experts that helped inspire their thinking in new ways, while in the afternoon they worked with their teams and designers to push their ideas further.Professors from every school accompanied the students to help and support them.
From Strate, research professor Ioana Ocnarescu and ArtScience prize manager Bastien Perdriault, were also in attendance with Strate’s students.
